Should I add a Codicil to my Will or make a new Will
A Codicil is an official alteration that accompanies your existing Will, which outlines changes to a particular clause/s in your Will. An example of this would be if you needed to change the name of an Executor, and a Codicil should only be used where these changes are not drastic. There are no restrictions on the number of codicils that can be added to a Will; however they must all be signed and witnessed for legal validity.
A brand-new Will would need to be made in the instance where dramatic changes are happening, rather than adding numerous codicils which can make it confusing. An example of a dramatic change would be if you were to change all the beneficiaries in your Will. Your new Will should explain that it revokes (officially cancels) all previous Wills and Codicils, and you should destroy your old will by burning it or tearing it up.
