A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that enables you (the ‘donor’) to appoint one or more people (known as ‘attorneys’) to help you make decisions or manage your affairs on your behalf when you are unable to do (in relation to your property & finances and/or your health & welfare) whether due to incapacity, medical issues or because you would like to pass on the responsibility to someone else.

Having the ability to choose who you would like to make decisions on your behalf in the event that you are unable to do so is something we highly recommend. In the absence of these documents, your loved ones would have to apply to the Court of Protection to enable them to make decisions on your behalf which not only is expensive but takes a long time and can be an emotional and mental strain.

When you prepare both LPAs with us between July and August 2020.

How do I start the LPA process?  Please either phone us on 01243 532777 or email info@owenkenny.co.uk and we will put you in touch with one of our Private Client team.  The entire process can be done remotely and safely (over the phone and by post), so there is no need to come into our offices.
