Paying for Divorce

We understand that, when it comes to paying legal fees, this can cause some clients concern. If you are considering speaking to a Solicitor, but are concerned about fees, then there are a few options to consider:

1) Pay yourself – this means that you cover the legal costs yourself

2) Get a loan/funding – there are specific companies who will loan you the funding for your case. Many of these do not require repayments to start until around 12 months after your loan has started and you can often pay off your loan with any settlement you obtain*

3) Friends/Family funding – it is becoming more and more common for family (particularly parents or grandparents) to help fund legal fees for their children/grandchildren in circumstances where the person does not have the funds available to pay for it themselves.

At Owen Kenny, we appreciate that legal costs can cause a concern, which is why we offer a fixed fee package for non-contested divorce. We are also open and honest with you, from the start, as to how much your case might cost.  We can also offer to invoice you for your legal fees monthly so that you can keep track of the costs, or a 6-8 week intervals if you prefer. This is something you would be able to speak with your Solicitor about directly.

We also currently have an offer available where you can have a fixed fee initial one hour consultation appointment with Tim Goodfellow, Family Solicitor, for a reduced price of £200 + VAT. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please contact the family team on 01243 790 532 and mention this article.
