Experience:
David has a wealth of experience having worked as a fee-earner in Private Client for over 20 years. He has worked for two firms of solicitor's in Birmingham and a firm of solicitor's in Startford-upon-Avon, before moving down south to Portsmouth in 2011, when he joined the Owen Kenny partnership.
He specialises in taxable and non-taxable estate administration, including dealing with any irregularities and defects in Wills when obtaining a Grant of Probate and estates where the deceased has died without leaving a Will, Intesate. He also has vast experience dealing with Will drafting as well as Court of Protection matters, to include the registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney, the completion of and, registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney, property and financial and health and welfare and Deputyship applications for property and finance and health and welfare.
David has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) for over 20 years and has been awarded the CILEX Certificate in Law and Practice (Elderly Client Practice), Solicitors for the Elderly Older Client Care in Practice Award and the Solicitors for the Elderly Older Client Law in Practice Award to become a Full Accredited Professional Member of Solicitors For the Elderly (SFE). SFE has recently been rebranded and is now known as The Association of Lifetime Lawyer's, David is an Accredited Member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers.
David is planning to in the near future gather evidence and complete the portfolio's required to become a CILEX Licensed Probate Practitioner.

What don’t you know about David:
He is a married father to a 11-year old daughter and stepfather to a 23-year old stepson. His wife is a Head Teacher of a local infant and Junior School working very long hours so most of his time in the evening is spent cooking and cleaning.
In his spare time, he enjoys going to the cinema and theatre and days out on the coast with his wife and daughter, and relaxing in his garden. He also tries to travel up to Birmingham (his place of birth) every couple of months with his daughter to visit his parents, both of whom are from Ireland. He goes back to Ireland with his daughter every year with his mother and father to visit relations.
David and his father also try to get up to Glasgow at least once a year to support the football club they both support passionately: Glasgow Celtic FC.
