James has a very wide property based background and worked for 12 years for the Genesis Housing Association, formerly known as the Genesis Housing Group. His last role at Genesis was Housing Services Manager and he was responsible for the management and maintenance of some 12,500 properties across Westminster City Council. He also led, as Project Manager, various discrete pieces of work over the years for Genesis and has worked with a number of different local authorities in and around London including Camden, Islington, Barnet, Brent, Haringey and Newham Councils (to name but a few). The work at Genesis was always customer and client focussed with an emphasis on key performance indicators in order to meet strict targets set by the clients.
Between 1998 and 2002 James was also elected to a North London Borough where he was the Executive Lead Member for Housing responsible for the Council’s residential and commercial property portfolio. His background has given him a good understanding of client needs and an awareness of commercial pressures that all property focussed clients face. This has stood him in good stead for being a property lawyer.
James then retrained over eight years as a property lawyer and qualified with Trowers & Hamlins, an international law firm based in the City. His focus has been on commercial property for a number of years and he can offer a wide range of commercial property services including:

What don’t you know about James
James is a full time Tottenham Hotspur supporter and is wishing for the best league finish in his lifetime… He has two young children and loves spending time with his family going swimming, camping, fishing, visiting friends and family and generally messing about and having fun. James played in a band for over ten years, playing the sax and singing, although these days the singing is done mainly in the shower and in the car while waiting at traffic lights. He plays golf and occasionally squash and enjoys walks across the West Sussex countryside.
