Will Writing: Appointing Executors

How many Executors should I appoint? You should appoint at least two people to act as your Executors in case one person is unable to act, or do not want to take up this role.

Your Executors are the people who are legally responsible for winding up your affairs after your death. This includes valuing your assets, reporting to beneficiaries and ensuring that any liabilities are settled.

If you think that your chosen Executors may need some professional help or you cannot think of a suitable person, then you can appoint Solicitors.

It is a good idea to speak to your Executors before you prepare your Will to ensure that they are comfortable with this appointment.
