Online divorce proceedings: Unqualified or qualified advisors?

Misleading claims being made about the simplicity of the online divorce process (and the prices charged) have led to the Government announcing that the Competition and Markets Authority is to open an investigation into providers of online legal services. At first glance, these providers appear to be a cheaper option, but the price quoted often does not include the Court fees or VAT. There are also concerns about the inadequate quality of advice, often by unqualified advisors, with the wrong forms being used, incorrect details being shared and inefficient communication with clients.

At the Owen Kenny Partnership, all our family lawyers are qualified solicitors with many years of experience. You can speak with us directly; we aim to respond to any query by the next working day. What's more, the prices quoted for the services we offer, is the full cost, including any court fees and VAT, so you won't be asked to pay more.

Getting divorced is obviously a significant life event and one that should not always be dealt with in the cheapest way possible. In the long term, what seems to be the cheapest choice may end up costing you more.
